1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Historical Pattern Library (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Historical Tailoring Masterclasses, LLC. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Historical Pattern Library provides a platform for generating historically accurate sewing pattern PDFs based on user-supplied body measurements. Patterns are generated from licensed template files and are sized to your measurements at the time of generation.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other people without their consent.
4. Beta access
New accounts receive 60 days of free beta access to all features of the Service. After the beta period, a one-time purchase is required to continue generating patterns. Your saved measurements and generated patterns remain accessible regardless of access status.
5. Paid access tiers
Access is available via a one-time lifetime purchase at the Supporter, Patron, Champion, or Founder tier. All tiers grant the same core access to the Service. Payments are processed by Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. There are no recurring fees.
6. Commercial use license
Champion and Founder tier accounts are granted a limited commercial use license under the following terms:
- You may use generated patterns to produce garments for paying clients or custom orders.
- Commercial use is limited to 50 generated patterns per month, per pattern template.
- You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise transfer the pattern files themselves, in whole or in part, to any third party.
- This license covers individual makers and small studios. Higher-volume commercial use requires a separate written agreement — contact us to discuss.
Supporter and Patron tier accounts are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.
7. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Reverse engineer or extract the underlying pattern template files.
- Use automated tools to generate patterns in bulk beyond normal personal or licensed commercial use.
8. Intellectual property
All pattern templates, software, and content provided by the Service are owned by Historical Tailoring Masterclasses, LLC or its licensors. Your purchase grants you a license to use the generated output as described in these terms — it does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that patterns will be error-free, fit for a particular purpose, or that the Service will be uninterrupted. Sewing results depend on many factors outside our control, including fabric, technique, and fit adjustments.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Historical Tailoring Masterclasses, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for your access tier.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If your account is terminated for cause, no refund will be issued. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the State of Connecticut.
